The first is sent to professors at four Faculties of Communication located in Spain, Ecuador, and Colombia. The second questionnaire is sent to the deans of the four institutions under study. The results show that one of the main difficulties encountered by professors is related to a lack of competence in the use of new technologies. It is concluded that compulsory virtual teaching was conducted in the institutions examined thanks to the fact that they have implemented powerful administrative mechanisms and technological tools that allowed countering issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. © 2022, Formacion Universitaria. ABSTRACT

The changes produced in the audiovisual industry, especially in Europe , Spain, due to the effects of the COVID-19 crisis are analyzed with a parti-cular focus on film and television content production. To achieve this goal, a review of the existing literature on audiovisual communication during the health crisis is combined with interviews with professionals with different roles within companies in the industry. The main consequences of this re-search reveal a change in audiovisual work production, distribution , ex-hibition models. These advances have been observed in recent years due, among other causes, to the growth of streaming services and the audience crisis. Considering the above, issues such as versatility in the operating win-dows, the emergence of workers in charge of ensuring health safety during the filming, and the expansion of fictional content are some aspects exami-ned in the text. In the end, we find that the health crisis has accelerated the transformation processes regarding distribution and exhibition, enabling hybrid solutions and allowing production to undergo very few changes ex-cept those strictly related to health, which will disappear over time.
